Join IJGT as we "Get our PINK on!"

As we roll into the month of October, IJGT is pleased to announce multiple outlets for players and spectators to join efforts in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Reflect

It is easy to get caught up in the hectic routine of checklists, school, work and more. For thousands of men and women, those daily to-dos have been forever affected by a cancer diagnosis. Statistics show that 1 in 8 women will be affected by breast cancer in their lifetime, while men account for approximately 1% of all new cases (www.breastcancer.org). With numbers on the rise, now is as important as ever to join the search to find a cure! 

Honor 

In an effort to honor the men and women who have been affected, October IJGT Events will include opportunities to “get our pink on.” Pink ribbons will be available at starting tees for both players and spectators to pin on. We will also have pink markers available to players who choose to mark their ball in honor of someone who has been affected by breast cancer.

October 15-16 Events at The Architects Golf Club and Hilton Head Lakes will feature extra opportunities to sport the color of the month. As part of each participant’s registration gifts, IJGT will distribute pink Bridgestone golf hats. Players will be encouraged match their ensemble to the hats – there just might be an award for the most pink!

In conjunction with the release of IJGT’s Spring 2012 schedule, $10 will be donated to Relay for Life for every Spring Event registration that occurs in October! We encourage you to check out the exciting line-up and reserve your spot early to help contribute to a worthy cause.

The IJGT staff thanks you in advance for your participation this month. While these are only small steps, we appreciate your support in honoring the incredible strength of men and women who have battled or are battling cancer. They are heroes and an inspiration to us all!
