Tour Player Network: Tour Rankings Update
Tour Rankings Update
The Tour Rankings are one way to determine which players are doing well over the course of the IJGT season. These rankings will be used for preferred registration and selection into the IJGT Major Championships and Invitational events. At the end of the season, the Top 10 in each age division will be named to the All IJGT Team and be honored at the Awards banquet hosted at the Bridgestone Golf Tournament of Champions. IJGT Rankings will also determine which players qualify for exemptions into other prestigious Junior Amateur events.
Half way through the season (January 1), players will be ranked according to the tournaments they have competed in so far. These rankings are calculated using the merit points from the tournaments each player has participated in, whether it’s one, five or even more. The more tournaments a player signs up and competes in, the higher their ranking could be. The system will take the best 5 merit point finishes and total the points. Each subsequent event past 5 will replace the lowest point finish. If you win 5 Major Championships you would max out your point total at 150,000.
Mid-Season point leaders in both the Boys 15-19 and Girls divisions will be invited into the Sea Pines Junior Heritage!
Only Tour Members are eligible to earn Merit Points toward the Tour Rankings. All IJGT age divisions are included: Boys 15-19, Boys U-14, and Girls Division. A player must have one (1) IJGT event within the season to be ranked and the best five (5) finishes will count towards the rankings. The minimum number of points to appear in standings is 100.
If there are ties for a specific place, the IJGT Merit Points will be split evenly. For example, a three-player tie for 2nd Place would result in each player receiving 850 Merit Points (2550 total points for 2nd, 3rd and 4th, divided evenly among three players). No points are awarded to players who do not finish the competition.

Check out our current Tour Rankings leaders so far this season from each division.
In the Boys 15-19 Division, Luke Edelman, of Mahwah, NJ holds the number one position followed by Mark Folkwein of New Albany, OH and Ben Dietrich of Conover, NC. Edelman has placed in the Top 3 in two out of the three events he has participated in so far, taking home the win in last week’s tournament at The Architects Club. Folkwein won his most recent tournament at Hilton Head Lakes after placing in the top five, two weeks in a row. Dietrich captured the victory at Saddlebrook Resort after taking second at Oldfield Country Club at the beginning of the season.
In the Girls Division, Ayaka Nakayama of Kanagawa, Japan is miles ahead of the other competitors after winning three consecutive tournaments this season and placing in the top three in her most recent event. Second atop the leaderboard is Moyu Sasaki of Tokyo, Japan. Although Sasaki has not taken home a trophy yet this season, her consistent top 3 finishes in all four of her events have landed her near the top. In a close third, with one win and two other top 5 finishes, Pailin Ruttanasupagid of Bangkok, Thailand rounds out the top 3.
Lining the top 3 on the leaderboard for our Boys U-14 Division, is Ryan Skae of Old Tappan, NJ with four top 5 finishes including one victory out of 5 events this season. Skae is followed closely by Kevin Ying of Shanghai, China and Lohith Ramaraju of London, England who each have recorded a win and 3 other top 3 finishes to this point.
