"Last Man Standing" at Major Championship at Kiawah Island
This past weekend at the Major Championship at Kiawah Island Resort the IJGT Tournament Operations girls Lauren and Catrin had something special planned out for the players. After been successful in the Northeast region this past season the tournament operations crew decided to hold a "Last Man Standing" putting contest in the Southeast.
After their first round at Turtle Point some of the players participated in the putting contest. The participants were divided into three groups and they started off by putting a 3-footer. To continue to the next round they had to make it, otherwise they were eliminated. The distance of the putts grew for each round until each group had two competitors remaining.
The final six players were asked to do what they did in the previous group. When there were only three competitors remaining they were asked to putt a 40-foot long putt and the one who ended up being closest to the hole was crowned the winner. Congratulations to Andrew Geesy of Red Lion, PA, winner of the putting contest!
