Highlighted Players of the Week: May 19-20, 2012
(Chesterland, OH.) - On May 19-20, 2012 the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) traveled to Fowler's Mill Golf Club to host The Buckeye Cup. Some of the top-junior golfers in Ohio were in attendance, and played in the last Northeast Event of the 2011-2012 Season. The Highlight Players of the Week for The Buckeye Cup are Ian Hardesty and Jennah Romansky.
Ian Hardesty of Chardon, OH. was the champion for the Boys 15-19 Division at The Buckeye Cup. Hardesty who was playing on his home course stepped up to the challenge as he shot rounds of 75 and 78, for a tournament total of 153. Ian has played in a number of events with the IJGT but this was his first victory of the 2011-2012 season, making the win that much more special. Ian has one second place finish and three other top-20 finishes to add to his resume. Hardesty has been consistently strong and accurate as he is one of the top ball stickers off the tee on tour. The IJGT is excited to have Ian for one more year on tour next season as he finishes his junior golf career and looks to take his game to the next level.
In the Girls Division Jennah Romansky of Cuyahiga Falls, OH. took home the championship at Fowler's Mill Golf Club. Romansky shot rounds of 78 and 79, for a tournament total 157. For Jennah this was her first event with the IJGT this 2011-2012 season, but with this win, she shows that she has the talent to compete on tour. She had 22 pars and one birdie for the weekend, while only being one-over-par on the par five holes. The IJGT looks forward to following Romansky during her junior career, and seeing her at upcoming events in the fall of 2012.
