Highlighted Players of the Week: June 26-27, 2012

(Hilton Head Island, SC) - On June 26-27, 2012 The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) hosted the 2012 IJGT Junior at Port Royal Golf Club. This was the first, of two events that the IJGT will host over the stretch of summer, and it turned out to be a success as many juniors posted low scores. Two juniors that earned themselves the Highlighted Players of the Week honors are Nont Panayanggool and Andrew Alligood.

Nont Panayanggool of Bangkok, Thailand was the champion in the Boys 15-19 Division as he shot rounds of 75-74 for a tournament total of 149. Nont was very impressive on the course as he was patient and methodical about every shot. Nont had five birdies and 21 pars throughout the event, but the shot that gave him the confidence to win the championship was an eagle he made on the par-5, hole No. 15. He was 2-under-par on the par 5's for the event. Nont showed that he has the talent and skill to compete with the best players in his division and on the IJGT. 

In the Boys 14 & Under Division Andrew Alligood of Saint Johns, Fla., stole the championship as he was two strokes down going into the final round. Andrew had two birdies and a solid 19 pars as he shot rounds of 83-79 for a tournament total of 162. Andrew proved that he has the competitive drive to come back in a final round. Andrew did not card anything higher that a bogey during his final round. As a local area talent the IJGT is looking forward to having Andrew at future events in the upcoming 2012 fall season. 

The IJGT will be hosting the second Summer Series event on July 16-17, 2012 at Dolphin Head Golf Club, at Hilton Head Island, SC.
