IJGT Summer Spotlight - U.S. Girls' Junior Participants
The IJGT would like to recognize the following members who have qualified to play in the U.S. Girls' Junior next week at Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, Calif. Conducted by the United States Golf Association (USGA), the U.S. Girls' Junior is our country's national championship for junior girls. Year after year, the best junior golfers in the world compete in this championship. Past champions of the U.S. Junior include numerous LPGA Tour players like Nancy Lopez, In-Bee Park, In-Kyung Kim (IJGT Alum), and Lexi Thompson.
The format of the U.S. Girls' Junior starting Monday, July 16th is 36-holes of stroke play with the low 64 players advancing to match play. Each match up to the finals is played over 18 holes with the Finals Match taking place over 36 holes.

UPDATE: Anne Freman advanced to the match play portion of the U.S. Girls' Junior. She won her first two matches in extra holes (20 & 19) advancing to the Round of 16.
