IJGT Stays On Hilton Head for 4TH SE Event of the Season

 

Hilton Head Island, S.C.– The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) will stay close to home for the fourth southeast tournament of the 2012-2013 season at Shipyard Golf Club, September 29-30. The IJGT Shipyard Tournament will be a two-day, 36-hole event featuring some of the best junior golfers in the southeast area.

The Boys 15-19 Division will feature junior golf veteran, Nix Duncan of Augusta, Ga. who finished in a tie for third place in the IJGT Low Country Open earlier this month. Also competing in the tournament will be Sam Meuret of Brunswick, Neb. who finished in fifth place at Hilton Head National. Hank Haney Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) student, Masato Yoshitsugu of Aichi, Japan will be competing in his third tournament of the season after competing in the Low Country Open and Hilton Head National, finishing T10 and T11 respectively.

The Boys 14 & Under Division will feature both the first and second place division winners of Hilton Head National, Tennoshin Ogawa of Ichinomiya-shi, Japan and Taisuke Ono of Tokyo, Japan. Taisuke also captured a third place title earlier this month in The IJGT Low Country Open.

 

 

The Girls U-19 Division will feature Hilton Head National first place winner, Rei Nakatani of Tokyo, Japan who also experienced the first hole-in-one of her career that same weekend. Competing alongside Rei, will be fellow IJGA student Kelly Whaley of Farmington, Conn. who tied for second place at Hilton Head National.

Practice rounds will begin Friday, September 28. First round of competition will begin with tee times starting on Nos. 1 and 10 tees at 8:30 am on Saturday, September 29 and final round of play will continue on Sunday, September 20. The awards ceremony following the round will recognize the top-3 finishers in each division.

The champion of each division will also receive a set of CHAMP  spikes, a pair of Kentwool socks, a set of morodZ  alignment rods and a headcover courtesy of AB Golf Designs . In addition, the male and female who posts the lowest final round score on Sunday will receive a belt and IJGT buckle from Clazic Belts .

The event will be nationally ranked by AJGA, GolfWeek and Junior Golf Scoreboard.
