Jim Liu Wins 2010 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship

ADA, MICHIGAN - IJGT member Jim Liu, a native of Smithtown, NY, has won the 2010 U.S Junior Amateur Championship, held this past week at Egypt Valley Country Club. Liu becomes the youngest player to win the U.S Junior Amateur at the age of 14, breaking the previous record by 7 months which was held by Tiger Woods when he won the event in 1991.

In the final on Sunday, Liu defeated Justin Thomas of Goshen, KY, 4 and 2. With the win, Liu has received an exclusive exemption into the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship, being held August 23-29 at Chambers Bay in University Place, Washington.

Liu has been a member of the IJGT since 2006 with a total of 18 wins over the past three years.
