IJGT Begins 16th Season with Labor Day Tournaments
BLUFFTON, SC - As the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) officially kicks off its 16th season of tournament play this fall, hundreds of the world’s top junior golfers will participate at a pair of opening events on Labor Day weekend, held at Oldfield Golf Club (Bluffton, SC) and the Hershey Country Club (Hershey, PA).
The IJGT at Oldfield, a 54-hole event, will be held September 4-6 in Bluffton, SC. The field of four divisions includes Boys 15-19, Boys 14-under, Girls 15-19, and Girls 14-under. Designed by Greg Norman, Oldfield Country Club’s 6,708 yard, Par 72 layout provides junior golfers with many challenges, from large waste bunkers and four different types of grass to large apron areas and Norman’s signature formal bunkers with sidewalls.
Eleven hours north of Bluffton, the second opening IJGT event will be held
at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, PA. Golfers from four divisions will embark
on a challenging, 7,061 yard course (par 71).
“The IJGT is proud to kick off its 16th season and offer great venues for all junior golfers to elevate their game and compete at the highest level. We are excited to have a strong field with accomplished junior golfers who have played previous IJGT events and or attended the Hank Haney IJGA. We welcome those who are new junior golfers to our tournaments,” stated Peter Orrell, CEO of Junior Golf Corporation, who operates the IJGT.

The International Junior Golf Tour is the only junior golf tour to host events every weekend throughout the academic year, with over 60 tournaments annually. In addition, the IJGT hosts three international events.
