What is the cost for tournaments? Why are some tournaments more expensive than others?

Cost for each event can be determined by not only the course but also what is included. While each course on our schedule is a high quality course, some venues have a higher stature. Courses such as TPC Sawgrass, Harbour Town Golf Links, Pinehurst, Bethpage State Park and many other venues that are frequently visited by the PGA and LPGA Tours result in higher cost due to demand. In many situations, additional meals, guest speakers or competitions may be available based on the event which would also influence price. Also, most IJGT events consist of two days of competition but in some situations an additional competition round may be available which would also influence cost of the event.

Following is a general breakdown of the cost of membership and tournament entry fees:

2011-2012 Membership Fees
Membership:$215
Expanded Premium Player Profile:$30
2011-2012 Tournament Fee Averages
Open Series:$380
Major Series:$415
Invitational:Varies by location

Are distance-measuring-devices permitted during Tournament play?

The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) is pleased to announce the tournament policy allowing the use of distance measuring devices in all competition events. This decision stems from the prevalence of distance measuring device usage at the collegiate level, the next step for many of our IJGT competitors. As a school year tour, many of you know practice rounds are sometimes unrealistic prior to playing in an event due to our tournament player's commitment to attending school instead. Using a distance measuring device will afford our competitors the opportunity to gain information about the course even when their schedule does not permit a tournament practice round.

[ top ]

What time will the event be over?

The estimated time of completion for the Final Round is 3:30 pm. However, the IJGT does not recommend making travel arrangements that require departure before 6 p.m. During the winter months weather delays are not uncommon; in addition other unanticipated circumstances can delay the start of the final round.
