Tournament Exemptions

Non-IJGT Tournament Exemptions

Throughout the IJGT season, tournament participants can gain tournament exemptions into some of the most prestigious events in junior and amateur golf.

IJGT is committed to providing the best exposure for members on the Junior and Amateur levels. The Non-IJGT amateur exemptions ensure and reward opportunities for anyone who has earned the right to compete at this level.

Players Amateur

Each year, the Players Amateur features many of the country’s top amateur golfers at the prestigious Tom Fazio designed Berkeley Hall in Bluffton, South Carolina. It is one of the top amateur tournaments in the world, but also one of the only events of its kind to donate net profits to local charities. Hosted by the Heritage Classic Foundation, the winner receives an exclusive exemption into The Heritage Classic, which is the only PGA TOUR event held in South Carolina, taking place the week after The Masters.

The tournament field is limited to 90 players and competition is contested over 72 holes of stroke play golf. Past winners of this event include Rickie Fowler, Camilo Villegas, and Ben Curtis.

At the end of the season, the leader of the Boys 15-19 Division will qualify for the Players Amateur.

The Junior Heritage

The IJGA Invitational at Harbour Town Champion in the Boys 15-19 Division and Girls Division will qualify for the Sea Pines Junior Heritage. Past winners include Ty Tryon, Sean O’Hair, and Charles Howell III. The winner of the Junior Heritage Classic receives an exemption into the Player’s Amateur.

Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational

The Winner of the IJGT Tournament of Champions in the Boys 15-19 Division will qualify for the Bobby Chapman Junior.

International Junior Masters

The International Junior Masters is the oldest international junior invitational in North America.  Started in 1953, the event has had many notable participants who advanced to have successful careers on the PGA TOUR. The IJGT receives two exemptions each year for the prestigious event in New York.
