How do I register for IJGT tournaments?

IJGT members are invited to participate in as many regular season tournaments as possible. Registrations are accepted and confirmed on a first come first serve basis to ensure pace of play and a high quality experience.  We recommend that players register 30 days in advance of the event date.

What is the cost for tournaments? Why are some tournaments more expensive than others?

  • Event venues and tournament offerings vary; registration fees are determined on a per event basis to ensure the highest quality experience for each player’s investment
  • IJGT events include 2-3 days of competition
  • Venues such as TPC Sawgrass, Harbour Town Golf Links and others that are frequented by the PGA and LPGA Tours have higher fees due to prestige and demand
  • In some instances, meals, instructional clinics and/or additional competition opportunities are included
  • Entry fees are posted on each individual tournament information page
  • While IJGT events are open to all junior golfers, IJGT members receive discounted registration fees for all events

What is the refund policy?

  • Membership dues are non-refundable once your application has been processed
  • Withdrawal after your registration has been confirmed will result in forfeiture of the player’s initial $100 deposit. Please review the IJGT Refund Policy for more details.

What happens when a tournament is full?

When a tournament field reaches registration capacity, all junior golfers who attempt to sign up will be added to a waiting list according to age division.  If a spot becomes available, you will be contacted directly by an IJGT team member to confirm your entry.

How do I withdraw from an IJGT tournament?

How do I book a practice round for a tournament?

Players may schedule a practice round at a discounted rate for the day before the event by contacting the venue’s golf shop directly. Practice round tee times are based on availability and there are no guarantees; players are encouraged to confirm arrangements in a timely manner. Some events may have special practice opportunities in lieu of a practice around; see each tournament for details.

When is registration and what if I cannot attend?

Onsite registration is not mandatory. However, to avoid any confusion during tournament rounds, participants are strongly encouraged to attend. Registration is open at the golf course the day before the first round, 1-5pm. Time and location are subject to change; check the onsite tournament schedule for specific location.

When are tee times posted and how do I find mine?

First round pairings, schedule, general information, as well as local rules will be available on the practice round day during registration. An email will also be sent to confirmed registrants 1-2 days before competition.

Are spectator carts permitted during tournament play?

Please see the IJGT spectator cart policy.

Are distance-measuring-devices permitted during tournament play?

  • The IJGT does allow the use of distance measuring devices in all competition events. This allowance is based on the prevalence of distance measuring device usage at the collegiate level, the next step for many IJGT competitors.
  • As a school year tour, practice rounds are sometimes unrealistic due to logistics. Measuring devices afford competitors a chance to gain information about the course even when their schedule does not permit a tournament practice round.
  • Players may not use any devices that measures slope, wind, or gradient.

What time will the event be over?

Final rounds are complete at approximately 3:30 pm. However, the IJGT does not recommend making travel arrangements that require departure before 6 pm. During the winter season, weather delays and other unknown circumstances may interfere with a prompt start.

Does the IJGT send press releases and/or report scores?

  • All IJGT members’ tournament results are recorded in their IJGT Golf Resume
  • Competition results are regularly distributed to 1400+ college coaches
  • Upon completion of each event, media-ready press releases are distributed by the IJGT
  • Results are sent for national ranking to platforms such as the Junior Golf Scoreboard and Golfweek
  • Scores and releases are also available at the IJGT website
  • Results are sent to local media outlets in the designated “hometown” of winners in each division
  • Following the final round, winners of their respective age divisions will also be asked to complete a quick video interview for use in communications generated by IJGT (this is excellent training for players)
