After each tournament, any player who finished in the Top 10 in his or her age division will receive IJGT Merit Points.
If there are ties for a specific place, the IJGT Merit Points will be split evenly. For example, a three player tie for 2nd Place would result in each player receiving 850 Merit Points (2550 total points for 2nd, 3rd and 4th, divided evenly among three players).
Competitors at Major Championship events will now be awarded double merit points following the same distribution as open.
Qualification for the IJGT Major Championships, season-ending Tournament of Champions, and places on the United States North America and Euro Cup Teams are based in part on the IJGT Merit Point standings.
The Top 10 IJGT Merit Point winner in each age division at the end of the season will be named to the All IJGT Team.
IJGT Merit Points will also allow players to qualify for other prestigious Junior Amateur events. Click here for more information about IJGT Amateur Events.
