IJGT Set to Begin 2018-2019 Season at Hershey Country Club

The IJGT returns to the “Sweetest Place on Earth” for the beginning of another exciting season

Hershey, PA: The International Junior Golf Tour is set to begin yet another busy season as it returns for tournament play and the beginning of the 2018-2019 season. The IJGT will once again begin its string of events with the annual playing of the Labor Day Classic at Hershey Country Club.

The Official “Sweetest Place on Earth” has played host to IJGT events now for more than a decade, with players from all over the state of Pennsylvania and the Northeast gathering at the famous George Fazio design. The Hershey CC has hosted numerous national events over the years, including the 1940 PGA Championship, the Reese’s Cup Classic for seven years consecutively and an NCAA Division II National Championship.

Hershey CC has received numerous awards and accolades over the years, most notably from the annual Distinguished Clubs award program. It has also received honors multiple times as one of the best Golf Resorts in the country, as recognized by Golf Digest.

Players at Hershey this season will be competing for a number of different National Golf Rankings, including Junior Golf Scoreboard (JGS), GolfWeek, and Global Junior Golf Rankings. Players will also have the opportunity to qualify for the newly formed Global Junior Golf Championships later on this year. There are three separate opportunities and tournaments players can earn invitation for, with those events being held at Crescent Pointe Golf Club (Bluffton, SC), The Club at Savannah Harbor (Savannah, GA) and Eagle Ridge Golf Club (Summerfield, FL).
