Alum Jennifer Ha wins Minnesota Invitational

Jennifer Ha, Kent State junior and 2013 MAC Golfer of the Year, continued to build on an already outstanding college resume with a win at the Minnesota Invitational on Sept. 16-17.

Playing in a field of 60 elite golfers from 12 universities, Ha led the way for her Kent State team with a tournament best 147 (+3) through 36 holes. After notching four birdies in Round 1 to land a +4, Ha improved vastly in the second round, sinking three birdies for a 1-under 71 going into the final round on Sept. 17.

The newly-crowned MAC Golfer of the Week (announced Sept. 19) continued her solid play during Round 3, dropping in six birdies (including three in a row on Nos. 2-4) as well as an eagle on No. 14 to card a final 4-under 68. Her final 215 (-1) was a spectacular 7 shots better than runner-up Stephanie Miller (222) of Illinois, making her the only player to finish under par for the tournament.

Marking an impressive start to the Kent State Women’s Golf season, Ha and the Golden Flashes can be seen next at the Nittany Lion Invitational in State College, Pa. on Sept. 27-29.
