Jennifer Ha, an International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) alum and current Kent State University junior, continues to dominate the field of college golf, winning her second event of the season at the Nittany Lion Women’s Invitational in State College, Pa., on Sept. 27-29. Her 70-72-70 performance through three rounds gave her a final 4-under-par 212 which not only secured an individual win, but also led the Golden Flashes to a second consecutive team win as well.
The reigning 2013 MAC Golfer of the Year opened up the first round of play by birdieing two of the first five holes. Ha then carded nine straight pars before she eagled No. 18 to fall just one stroke behind the leader going into Round 2. Her three birdie, three bogey performance gave Ha an even-par 72 through two rounds and catapulted her into the lead going into the final round. She came out fast in Round 3, immediately birdieing Hole 1 and continuing on pace to finish with a 2-under-par score for the final 18 holes. Her final 212 is ranked 7th all-time at Kent State for a 54-hole tournament, and earned Ha her second consecutive MAC Golfer of the Week honors.
Head Coach Greg Robertson is more than delighted with Ha’s performance this season, stating, “As far as Jennifer, I’m so proud of her,” said Robertson. “The caliber of golf she’s playing right now is incredible.”
Ha and the Kent State Golden Flashes will aim to lock up their third consecutive win of the season at the Schooner Fall Classic on Oct. 5-7 in Norman, Okla.
