The International Junior Golf Tour has always looked to provide its members with opportunities which would help them grow into not only improved golfers, but also to compete at the highest level. All IJGT members will have multiple opportunities to earn an invitation to the prestigious Callaway Junior World Golf Championships. Being the largest international junior event in the world, the Callaway Junior World Golf Championships is recognized for its global representation and cultural diversity. The tournament boasts of over 1200 participants comprising of 56 countries and 42 states. This championship will take place at Torrey Pines Golf Course from July 14-18. Some of the champions from the past on this tournament include the likes of Ernie Els, Tiger Woods, and Phil Mickelson in the Boys Division and Amy Alcott, Brandy Burton and Jennifer Rosales in the Girls Division.
The IJGT will be conducting two tournaments as official qualifiers for the Callaway Junior World Championships. Both of these tournaments will be held simultaneously at the following locations:
- Golden Bear Golf Club, Hilton Head Island, S.C., – May 3-4, 2014
- TPC Deere Run, Silvis, Ill., – May 3-4, 2014.
The winner of the Boys and Girls Divisions at the two qualifiers will earn an exemption into the prestigious Junior World Golf Championships, provided that they are ages 15-17 as of the last day of the Callaway Junior event, July 18th, 2014. An additional opportunity to qualify for the Callaway Junior World Golf Championships is at the IJGT Bridgestone Golf Tournament of Champions. The winner of the Boys 15-19, Boys 14 & Under, and Girls Divisions will earn an exemption into the tournament provided they meet the age requirements of the championship set forth by the tournament committee.
