Callaway Junior World Qualifier at TPC Deere Run – Round one recap

The IJGT headed to the midwest to host the Callaway Junior World Qualifier at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. on May 3-4, 2014. Hefty winds and temperatures in the upper 60s challenged the field of 33 juniors during round one. The round-one leaders and their rounds in numbers are below:

Jack Ramsett of Algonquin, Ill., leads the Boys 15-19 Division. His round in numbers:

75 – his 4-over-par score for round one

6 – his largest par or better streak coming on holes 13 through 18

2 – the number of strokes by which he the division

1 – this is Ramsett’s first ever IJGT event

The Boys 14 & Under Division is led by Jack Bartuch of Clarendon, Ill. His round in numbers:

94 – his round-one score

5 – number of holes he made par, including three par-4s

1 – Bartuch leads the division by one stroke

In the Girls Division, Ashley Childers of Mt. Vernon, Mo., leads. Her round in numbers:

78 – her round-one score, one stroke ahead of the rest of the division

39 – score carded on both the front and back nine

1 – number of birdies for the round; this is also her first ever IJGT event
