The College Classic at Duke University first round highlights – D'Amico, Halleron, Tang lead

The IJGT Southeast Tour headed north to Durham, N.C., to host The College Classic at Duke University Golf Club. The juniors took the course in sunny, windy weather with temperatures in the mid 60s. In review, below is each division’s leaders’ rounds, in numbers.

Leading the Boys 15-19 Division is Luigi D’Amico of Forli, Italy. His round in numbers:

13 – The College Classic is D’Amico’s 13th IJGT event of the 2013-2014 season

5 – his 77 round-one score is 5 strokes over par

3 – number of birdies in his first round

1 – he has a one-stroke lead going into round two

In the Boys 14 and Under Division, Jack Halleron of Timonium, M.D., leads. His round in numbers:

8 – number of bogeys in his round

6 – Halleron leads the division by six strokes

5 – number of consecutive pars tallied on his last nine

1 – this is his first tournament played in the southeast

Phyllis Tang of Hong Kong, China, leads the Girls Division. Her round in numbers:

79 – her round-one score

4 – number of top-five finishes Tang has coming into The College Series

3 – number of birdies in her first round, the most in the division

2 – Tang has a two-stroke lead over second place in round one
