College Prep at Nemacolin – Day One Recap

The IJGT headed to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort to host the College Prep Series. The College Prep series feature a 54-hole contest. The first 18 holes were played on the Links Course followed by 18 more holes on the Mystic Rock Course, designed by Pete Dye. The numbers for the division leaders are as follows.

In the Boys 15-19 Division, Paul Edgar of Kitchener, Canada is currently leading his division. Here are Edgar’s day one numbers:

4 – total number of birdies, 2 at Links Course & 2 at Mystic Rock

35 – Edgar’s score on his first nine holes at Mystic Rock

1 – 1-under-par combined score for the par-3 holes in rounds 1 &2

5 – five players within three strokes of Edgar

In the Girls Division, Victoria Parker of Lewistown, NY is leading her division. Here are her numbers from day one:

4 – total birdies on the day, 2 at Links Course & 2 at Mystic Rock

12 – total pars

6 – sixth IJGT event this season

5 – fifth place finish at her last IJGT event, the Major Championship at Hartefeld National 

In the Boys 14 & Under Division, Marc Groenhuysen of West Chester, Pa. is leading the divsion. Here are his round one numbers:

5 – total birdies on the day, 2 at Links Course & 3 at Mystic Rock

11 – 11-over-par after day one, +8 at Links Course & +3 at Mystic Rock

6 – six holes in a row making par or better on the Mystic Rock Course

2 – coming off of a second place finish at the Major Championship at Hartefeld National
