The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) will head out west to host the College Series at Colorado National Golf Club on Oct. 12-13. The two-day event will take place in Erie, Colo., where players will be competing for national rankings and IJGT Merit Points.
Spanning more than 232 acres of land with views of the surrounding Long’s Peak and Mt. Meeker mountains, Colorado National’s course features numerous bunkers, lakes, and elevation changes to make for a challenging, yet beautiful experience. Colorado National Golf Club is the home course for the University of Colorado (Boulder) Men’s and Women’s golf teams.
Some notable players participating in the event will be William Thomson and Li Chen. This will be the first event of the 2013-2014 season for Thomson, from Pittsford, N.Y. In three seasons as a part of the Boys 14 & Under Division, Thomson has played in 23 events, placing Top-10 in 21 events and winning five of them. Chen, from Westminster, Colo., will also be making his first appearance of the season, whose resume features a tied-for-fifth finish in the Arizona Open at Wigwam Golf Resort on Mar. 29-30, 2013.
Two newcomers, Jake Larson of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, and Jason Siegel of Colorado Springs, Colo., will be making their debut for the IJGT over the weekend.
