Decahthipat, Wren among IJGT Players of the Week

Southeast Tour

The IJGT Southeast Tour traveled to Lake Buena Vista, Fla., to host the BGGA Orlando Open on May 9-10, 2015. Juniors competed in warm and sunny conditions for IJGT Merit Points, national rankings and North American Junior Amateur exemptions during the two-day, 36-hole event. Following the tournament, the IJGT Southeast Tour is pleased to name Mai Decahthipat of Bangkok, Thailand, and Trey Wren of Suffolk, Va., as IJGT Players of the Week.

Mai Decahthipat

Decahthipat knocked eight strokes off her round one 80 to card an even-par 72 in round two. She had five birdies in the second round including back-to-back birdies on the par-4 11th and par-3 12th holes. Her 152 tournament total was good for ninth in the Girls Division.

Trey Wren

Wren bounced back from his first round 80 to shoot a 2-under 70 in the second round. Wren started round two on the 10th hole and finished his front nine with a 2-over 38. He started his front nine strong with birdies on the par-5 first and par-3 second holes. He made par or better on holes No. 1 through 9 including an eagle on the par-5 eighth hole. He finished his back nine with a 4-under 32. His 150 tournament total landed him in a tie for 10th in the Boys 15-19 Division.

Northeast Tour

The IJGT Northeast Tour traveled to Hershey, Pa., to host the IJGA Junior Open at Hershey Country Club on May 9-10, 2015. Juniors competed for IJGT Merit Points, national rankings, AJGA stars and North American Junior Amateur exemptions during the two-day, 36-hole event. Following the tournament, the IJGT Northeast Tour is proud to name Peter Bradbeer of Philadelphia, Pa., and Christine Shao of Green Brook, N.J., as IJGT Players of the Week.

Peter Bradbeer

Bradbeer shaved 17 strokes off his round one 87 to card a 1-under 70 in round two, good enough to earn the Clazic Belts Low Final Round Award. All of Bradbeer’s three birdies came in the second round. He birdied the par-5 first, par-4 fifth and par-4 15th holes. His 157 tournament total landed him in sixth place in the Boys 15-19 Division.

Chrisine Shao

Shao improved on her round one 90 by 11 strokes to shoot 79 in round two. She finished the tournament in a tie for fourth in the Girls Division with a 169 two-day total. She birdied the par-4 fifth hole in both rounds.
