The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) hosted its second Discovery Tour Event of the season in the Northeast on Oct. 26. The tournament was hosted by Hershey Links in Hummelstown, Pa. The nine-hole Event featured players ages 8-11. Throughout the day, cold and windy conditions were present.
In the Boys Division, Logan Paczewski of Dallas Pa., was victorious after firing a 3-over-par 39. Paczewski got off to a rough start with a bogey on No. 10 and a double-bogey on No. 11 to sit at 3-over-par through two holes. He found his groove after the double-bogey, stringing together seven consecutive pars to finish his round. Derek Mcglaughlin of Elizabethtown, Pa., finished second with a score of 46. Mcglaughlin’s round was highlighted by two pars to start the day. Dustin Stocksdale of Ellicott City, Md., Ben Galko of Roaring Brook Township, Pa., and Jay Colella of Marcellus, N.Y., all finished in a tie for third with a score of 48.
In the Girls Division, Elizabeth Beek of Blue Bell, Pa., won her second Discovery Tour Event of the season following up her victory at the Discovery Tour at Blue Heron Pines. Beek carded a 43, including a birdie on the par-3 13th. Along with her birdie, Beek made pars on holes Nos. 11, 14, 15 and 18. Rylie Heflin of Avondale, Pa., finished second, two strokes behind Beek. Heflin’s round was highlighted by a birdie on the 13th, coming only feet away from a hole-in-one.
