With cooperation from the winter weather, the IJGT hosted the Capitol Challenge at Westfields Golf Club on March 15-16, 2014 in Clifton, Va. Day one of the tournament presented spring-like temperatures in the upper 60s with abundant sunshine before the temperatures slipped back in to the 40s on day two. Despite the varying conditions, the juniors performed well both days to finish strong. This week’s Photo of the Week honors goes to third-place finisher, Walter Egloff of Chevy Chase, Md.
Though he struggled through a streak of bogeys in the first round on the front nine, Egloff’s play on the back nine was highlighted by back-to-back birdies on the fourteenth and fifteenth holes to drive a strong finish. Round two also featured a birdie in addition to making par on 12 of 18 holes. The third-place finish is the third of five events played in which Egloff has placed in the top five. The IJGT looks forward to seeing Egloff in future tournament events!
