Post Tournament Recap – Florida Junior at Falcon’s Fire

This past weekend, Falcon’s Fire Golf Club in Kissimmee, FL hosted the IJGT’s Florida Junior. Luis Martinez, a member of the International Junior Golf Academy’s Class of 2018 from Caracus, Venezuela, took home 1st place in the Boys Division after a 3-way sudden death playoff. Coming in behind Martinez, were Greg Shen and Diego Cordova. All three players shot +1 over par over two days to make it into the play off.

In the Girls Division, the IJGT 2016-2017 Play of the Year, Ying-Ting Hsieh, a junior at Bishops Gate Golf Academy from Taiwan, shot 75-74 (+4) to remain dominant in the division as she returned to the field to launch her fall season. Coming in second, Chiara Arya, another BGGA student, shot 75-77, followed by third place winner Yoko Tai who shot 79-75.

IJGT returns to the Lowcountry for the first time this fall next weekend, hosting the Faldo Series South Carolina Championship at The Legends Golf Course at Parris Island this coming weekend, September 30-October 1. This weekend, the top-5 players in the Boys and Girls Divisions in the relative U16 and U18 Categories will qualify for the first ever Faldo Series US Grand Final at Bella Collina, November 23-25.

Note: You must be a Birdie or Eagle Member to be eligible to qualify for the Faldo Series US Grand Final. The Faldo Series US Grand Final Age Division subcategories are divided by Boys and Girls Division, and based on junior golfer’s age as of January 1, 2017.
