Georgia Junior at Savannah Harbor — Round one recap (Feb. 21, 2015)

The International Junior Golf Tour traveled to Savannah, Ga., to host the Georgia Junior at Savannah Harbor. Although frost dusted the course in the early morning, as the sun rose so did the temperature to create pleasant playing conditions. The tournament began with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. In review, below are each division’s leaders’ rounds, in numbers.

Wataru Koguchi of Fukuoka, Japan, and Print Yusabai of Pattaya, Thailand, are tied for first in the Boys 15-19 Division. Their rounds in numbers:


11 – Koguchi had a division-best 11-hole par-or-better streak beginning with the par-4 sixth hole and ending with a birdie on the par-4 16th hole.

4 – He carded four birdies during the round.

73 – His 1-over score to share the lead.


2 – Yusabai carded back-to-back birdies on the par-4 10th hole and the par-5 11th hole.

5 – He carded five birdies during the round.

12 – He made par or better on 12 holes.

The Girls Division is led by Ankita Kedlaya of Bangalore, India. Her round in numbers:

17 – Kedlaya made par or better on 17 of 18 holes.

3 – She carded three birdies in round one.

70 – Her 2-under score to carry the lead.

4 – She leads the division by four strokes.
