The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) will host the Georgia Open at Savannah Quarters on Oct. 19-20 in Pooler, Ga. Held on the Greg Norman Signature Course, play features vast greens, scenic ponds, and countless natural hazards, challenging golfers with a tournament-quality experience. This will be IJGT’s second event at the Savannah Quarters Country Club, with players competing for national rankings and IJGT Merit Points.
The Boys 15-19 Division will showcase players such as Tyler Pidduck of Thousand Oaks, Calif., who participated in last year’s event and who will be looking to grab his first win of the season after finishing in the Top-10 in two events already. Salil Ghamande, from Evans, Ga., will be making his 2013-2014 season debut, after three Top-10 finishes last season and three wins in the Boys 14 & Under Division two seasons ago.
The Boys 14 & Under Division will see the likes of Takafumi Shimoji of Okinawa, Japan, who is coming off a win at the Aiken Junior at Woodside Plantation on Sept. 21-22. Xiaofeng Hu of Qiang Dao, China, and Luis Sanchez of Xalapa, Mexico, are also players to watch, as both have placed in the Top-10 at two events this season.
Playing in her fourth season with the IJGT, Bria` Sanders of Cordova, Tenn., will be making her second appearance this season after coming in sixth place at the IJGT Junior at Hilton Head National. Last season, she finished Top-10 in eight of 11 events played, and has notched more than 30 events on her resume in her IJGT career.
