The IJGT is set to return to Hershey Country Club on May 10-11, 2014 to host the #HersheyClassic presented by IJGA. This event will consist of two 18-hole rounds to be played on Saturday and Sunday on the East Course at Hershey CC. National Rankings and IJGT Merit Points will be at stake for this event.

Opening in 1969, Hershey CC is rich in history. Designed by George Fazio, this course is located in the Pennsylvania countryside and features wonderful views, natural hazards, and rolling greens. The East Course was named a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by Audubon International in 2010. It has also hosted several PGA tournaments, most recently the Nationwide Tour’s Reese’s Cup Classic, an event on professional golf’s development tour. Other accolades include being mentioned America’s Top Golf Courses guide by Zagat Survey and named one of the “Top Courses You Can Play/Best Course Near You” for the State of Pennsylvania by Golf Magazine in 2007.
In the Boys 15-19 Division, James WolfAngel tops the players to watch list at Hershey. WolfAngel’s best finish to date is a Top-3 finish at the Metropolitan Junior at Forsgate CC . Jb Bradbeer of Rosemont, Pa., will be looking to earn his first IJGT Championship. Bradbeer has played in five events this season so far, his best finish was tied for second at the Major Championship at Hartefeld National. His numbers in that event were 77-75–152. James Nicholas will look add his third IJGT Championship this season at Hershey. It will be a very strong field of competitors and exciting to watch!
Watch out for Kaitlyn Lees of Bryn Mawr, Pa., in the Girls Division. Lees has finished in the top-10 in both of her events played this season. She is coming off of a first place finish in the Major Championship at Hartefeld National. Synclaire Kuhn will be another competitor to watch. Kuhn is coming off of a second place finish at the College Prep at Nemacolin. In the final round of the event at Nemacolin, Kuhn shot the low final round of 80 to head to a playoff where she eventually finished second. Madeline Sager of Kimberton, Pa. and Alyssa Schiera of West Windsor, N.J., round out the players to watch for this event.
In the Boys 14 & Under Division, Luke Sample of New York, N.Y., will be at Hershey competing for the top spot. In his five events played this season, Sample has finished within the top-5 at four of five events. His most recent was a fourth place finish at The Architects Cup where he posted scores of 78-76–154. Evan Brown of Chadds Ford, Pa., will also be competing for the top spot. Brown’s most recent finish was first place at the Major Championship at Hartefeld National. Other players to watch include Garret Engle of Harrisburg, Pa., and Jack ODonavan of Pittsford, N.Y.
The Hershey Classic boosts one of the largest and most competitive fields of the year. We are looking forward to this event presented by the International Junior Golf Academy.
