Hilton Head, SC: The International Junior Golf Tour is proud to announce the 2018 edition of Team USA that will be representing the IJGT in the 16th North America Cup. Going up against members of the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA), the marquee event has hosted a number of fantastic players over the years, including the likes of PGA Tour Members Rickie Fowler (2003) and Morgan Hoffman (2005).

Dating back to 2003, the IJGT and CJGA have come together each summer for the three-day Match Play event. Fourball matches, foursome matches, and singles matches make up the three competition rounds. The event matches up 12 players from each organization, with 8 players competing in the Boys 15-19 division, 2 boys from the Boys 14 & Under Division and 2 players from the Girls Division. Players selected by the IJGT are members and winners of events over the season, and also selected by their overall character and sportsmanship as they not only represent the IJGT, but the United States of America.

USA currently leads the overall series against Canada, having winning the past two North America Cup events. The 2018 edition of Team USA will be looking for the “three-peat” as Dolphin Head Golf Club will host the international event for the first time in series history. Opening ceremonies will be taking place on July 3rd, as the first round of competition will begin on the Fourth of July

For this year’s 2018 North America Cup, Team IJGT-USA features 12 active IJGT members from 7 different states, and 4 players returning as veterans for the flagship event. The group representing IJGT also brings a great deal experience as a number of players won multiple IJGT events during the season, and each player had a top-three finish throughout the year.

Before the event gets kicked off on July 4th, we wanted to formerly introduce for the very first time, the 2018 edition of Team USA.

Chandler Brewer

The nearby resident of Tybee Island, GA is thrilled to be a part of Team USA for the very first time in his junior golf career after a stellar golf season in 2018.
