IJGT alum Rickie Fowler has been the talk of the golf world since winning The Players Championship via sudden-death playoff on Sunday. Fowler was 1-over through 12 holes in the final round before shooting 6-under on the final six holes. He became the first player ever to shoot 5-under (he made three birdies and an eagle) on the final four holes at The Players. Seven players have finished the stretch 4-under. Fowler also became the first player to birdie hole No. 17 three times in one day. Fowler’s mom, sister and girlfriend were all in attendance to watch his Mother’s Day win. Read more about it here.
Derek Bard (Virginia) was named to the All-ACC team. He won the U.S. Collegiate title in October and ranks eighth in the ACC in stroke average (70.91).
Matt Barto (Gannon) will be competing as an individual in the NCAA DII Men’s Golf Championships. He will play in the Atlantic/East regional at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio, hosted by the Mountain East Conference.

Betty Horaney carded a hole-in-one on the par-3 eighth hole at Golden Bear during the previous weekend’s Junior World Qualifier. Earlier this week, Peter Bradbeer made a hole-in-one during practice while preparing for the Friends School League Championship.
