IJGT ELITE News: Pro Edition
March 23, 2015
It was an exciting weekend for IJGT alums competing professionally. In fact, on Thursday night IJGT alums sat atop the leaderboard in both the PGA TOUR’s Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Web.com Tour’s Chile Classic. Here are some of the highlights from the past week:
PGA TOUR: Arnold Palmer Invitational – Orlando, FL – March 19-22, 2015
The big news in pro golf this weekend was Matt Every defending his Arnold Palmer Invitational title. He made a 17-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole of the tournament to earn the win with a 19-under 269 tournament total. Every was the first player to win at Bay Hill with all four rounds in the 60s since Payne Stewart did it in 1987. He also became just the third player—after Tiger Woods and Loren Roberts—to earn repeat victories at Bay Hill. You can read more about Every’s victory and watch his winning putt by clicking here.
Morgan Hoffmann was leading by three shots after 36 holes, but ended up finishing in fourth with a 15-under 273 tournament total. He made par or better on every hole in round one, including an eagle on the par-5 sixth hole, on the way to a 6-under 66 to start the tournament. He improved on his round one score by one stroke to card a 7-under 65 in round two.
