HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) will return to Arizona for the fourth and final West Coast Event of the 2013 Spring Season. Held in Scottsdale, Ariz., the PURE Grips Shootout at Troon North – Monument Course, will take place May 11-12, and will feature elite junior golfers ages 9-19 from around the world competing for national recognition and IJGT Merit Points.
Troon North is a Tom Weiskopf design nestled in the heart of the Arizona desert with no shortage of scenic views and challenging holes. The Event will take place on the Monument Course, a course that gives true meaning to “desert course.” The Monument Course features narrow fairways and guarded greens. As one of the top ranked golf courses in the country, Troon North will challenge IJGT participants and provide a great atmosphere for what is sure to be an exciting event.
In addition to the excellent course, tournament gifts and challenging competition, the PURE Grips Shootout at Troon North is happy to announce that PURE Grips representatives will on-site offering free installation and merchandise during the Event weekend. PURE Grips offers a unique combination of performance, feel, durability and value unmatched in the golf industry. As part of their innovative technological advancements, PURE Grips are installed using a patent-pending quick-connecting tool that requires no adhesive tapes or solvents. All PURE Grips are guaranteed to remain supple and tacky and to perform in all conditions for 12 months. The representatives at the PURE Grips Shootout will also be available to answer questions about their services and product lines.
With a lot at stake, this tournament is quickly filling up with talented junior golfers. In the Boys 15-19 Division, Thomas Avant of Chandler, Ariz., returns to Troon North after an impressive performance there last December. He carded rounds of 76-75 during the PURE Grips Junior Open to finish tied for sixth place. Avant also had a great final-round performance at the Arizona Open at Wigwam Golf Resort, where he carded a 1-over-par 73. Avant will definitely be a player to watch as he attempts to take home his first IJGT title in his home state.
Troon North – Monument Course will be open for optional practice rounds and registration May 10 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The PURE Grips Shootout will begin with opening round tee times May 11 at 7 a.m. and will end with an awards ceremony recognizing the top-3 juniors in each division with tournament gifts and trophies.
This two-day, 36-hole Event is filling up quickly. Be sure to register today to reserve your spot in the field.
