NASHPORT, Ohio.- The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) is excited to host its first event at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio May 18-19, 2013 for the Bridgestone Series at Longaberger. This event will feature elite junior golfers from around the world competing for national recognition and IJGT Merit Points.
Longaberger Golf Club, which opened in 1999 and was designed by renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills, ranks # 56 in the U.S. (out of roughly 13,500 public access courses) in GOLF Magazine’s 2010 “Top 100 Courses You Can Play” list. Golfweek Magazine rated Longaberger Golf Club # 1 in Ohio in its recent 2010 state-by-state rankings. The Boys 14 Under Division will feature former champion William Sheedy of Washington, D.C. Sheedy took home the title at the Arizona Open at Wigwam Golf Resort earlier this season, and has three more top-10 finishes under his belt.
In the Girls Division, Emily Doyle of Horseheads, N.Y., will be a player to keep an eye on at the event. Doyle has five top-10 finishes this season, including an impressive third-place finish at the Western Pa. Major at Nemacolin. Doyle looks to build on her past success, and take home her first IJGT Title.
Longaberger Golf Club will be open for optional practice rounds and registration May 17 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Bridgestone Series at Longaberger will begin with opening round tee times May 18 at 12 p.m. and will end with an awards ceremony recognizing the top-3 juniors in each division with tournament gifts and trophies.

The IJGT provides exceptional junior golfers with the opportunity to develop and showcase their competitive skills while setting high standards to preserve the traditions and integrity of the game. As a tour that operates primarily throughout the academic year, the IJGT hosts approximately 60 tournaments annually. In addition, the IJGT hosts three international events. Each event provides multi-day competition for junior golfers of all skill levels ages 9-19.
