From the moment she began high school, Alexis Hios of Rye, N.Y., has proved to be a successful and talented golfer. Hios joined the IJGT in 2012 playing events in the northeast region to grow her golf game. In addition to her participation with the IJGT, Hios saw noteworthy success at Rye High School in New York where she made her first trip to the state tournament in her freshman year, returning each year thereafter with improved placement.

The combination of success at Rye and on the IJGT, Hios has accepted a scholarship to play Division I golf at Towson University in Towson, Md. With “Athlete of the Month” honors, New York State runner-up accolades and seven top-10 IJGT finishes, it is clear that Hios has a bright future in golf.

In a mere seven tournaments with the IJGT, Hios tallied 15 total birdies and improved her scoring average into the low 80s. Her best finishes came at the The Jersey Championship at The Architects Club in 2012, the IJGT Junior at Hershey Links in 2013 and the South Jersey Open at Blue Heron Pines in 2013 where she placed second each time.

Talent does not stop at golf for Hios. She also is a violinist in the Tri-M Music Honor Society, has received academic honors through the honor roll and is an active volunteer in her community. Congratulations to Alexis, the IJGT wishes you the best of luck!
