Oldfield has no shortage of breathtaking scenery and was recognized by the Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary for its attention to preserving the local environment. The natural environment equates to small greens and free-form bunkers. The course is located just off the Okatie River and offers a one-of-a-kind golfing experience.
Luigi D’Amico of Forli, Italy, and Yong Sherng Hui of Taman Dagang, Malaysia, will both look to lead the Boys 15-19 Division as they both come off of a top-10 finish in their last tournament play. D’Amico finished second at the Palmetto Open at Columbia Country Club on March 22-23, 2014 while Hui comes off a tie for 10th in the same tournament.
In the Girls Division, we have seen Sera Tadokoro of Osaka, Japan, in 14 events this season and she will look to make the Oldfield Junior a victory for her 15th event. Tadokoro comes off of a 9th-place tie at the Georgia Junior at Savannah Harbor in February. Kelly Whaley of Farmington, Conn., will be making an appearance in her first tournament of 2014 and will look to add to her three top-three finishes on the 2013-2014 season.
In the Boys 14 and Under Division, Takafumi Shimoji of Okinawa, Japan, brings to the table nine top-five finishes, four of which are first-place victories and he will look to add a fifth. Chase Ingram of Bluffton, S.C., comes off of a hard-fought third-place finish at the Palmetto Open at Columbia Country Club and will also be in the hunt for a victory.
