Awarded “second-best course to play in North Carolina” by GOLFWEEK in 2013, Dormie Club is built on 307 acres and located in the middle of 1,028 acres of rolling sand hills and has no sand bunkers. All traps are considered waste bunkers. There is a 110′ change of elevation across the property. Dormie Club is not a course lined with homes and is visually pleasing, making it an ideal course for walking. Lacking rough, the course is playable for golfers of all skill levels but not at the expense of delivering a challenge nonetheless.

In the Boys 15-19 Division, Shiso Go of Kanagawa, Japan, Nicholas Russell of Bluffton, S.C., and Tennoshin Ogawa of Ichinomiya-shi, Japan will be players to watch. Go currently sits in second for the IJGT Tour Rankings and in four tournaments played has posted three top-three finishes including a win at the IJGT College Series at NC State on September 20-21, 2014. Russell comes off of a tie for second at the Georgia Open at Savannah Quarters on October 18-19, 2014. Also top-15 in the IJGT Tour Rankings, Russell will look to make a move for his first ever win in a Major. Ogawa , just behind Go in the Tour Rankings in third, has never won a Major either and will look to improve on his personal best second place at the Major Championship at Palmetto Dunes in November of 2013.

In the Girls Division, the Major will be the first event of the season for Ana Paula Valdes of Morelia, Mexico. Valdes has participated in five Majors and placed in the top 10 all five times, winning twice. She will look to continue with her streak. Mind Puangcharoen of Chonburi, Thailand, will look to contend with Valdes in what will be her first Major of her IJGT career. Puangcharoen is currently top 10 in the Tour Rankings and has finished in the top 3 in two of three events this season.
