Major Championship at Duke University- Round one recap (March 28, 2015)

The IJGT Southeast Tour headed north to Durham, N.C., to host the Major Championship at Duke University. Juniors teed off in cold and blustery conditions beginning at 8 a.m. for round one of the two-day, 36-hole event. In review, below are each division’s leaders’ rounds, in numbers.

Kyle Vance of Audubon, Pa., leads the Boys 15-19 Division. His round in numbers:

1- He leads the division by a single stroke

2 – His two birdies came on the par-5 fifth hole and the par-4 16th hole

6 – He had a six-hole par-or-better streak on holes No. 9 through 14

75 – His round one score to carry the lead

Jack Halleron of Timonium, Md., leads the Boys 14 & Under Division. His round in numbers:

1 – He carded an eagle on the par-5 11th hole

4 – He carded four birdies in the first round, the most in his division

76 – His round one score to lead the division

4 – His average on par-5s

Linda Trockel of Berlin, Germany, leads the Girls Division. Her round in numbers:

2 – She birdied the par-5 seventh hole and the par-4 18th hole

76 – Her division-leading round one score

38 – Her score on both the front and back nines

4 – She leads the division by four strokes
