Major Championship at Presidio Golf Course – Round one recap (Feb. 7, 2015)

The International Junior Golf Tour traveled to San Francisco, Calif., for the first west coast event of the year, the Major Championship at Presidio Golf Course. Juniors teed off in the Golden State beginning at 9:40 a.m. PST for the first of two rounds. In review, below are each division’s leaders’ rounds, in numbers.

Drew Karren of Orinda, Calif., leads the Boys 15-19 Division. His round in numbers:

75 – His round one score for the lead is a 3-over 75

9 – Karren made par on the entire back nine

2 – His two birdies came on the par-5 hole No. 2 and the par-4 hole No. 8

1 – Karren leads the Boys 15-19 Division by a single stroke

The Boys 14 & Under Division is led by Brian Ma of Milpitas, Calif. His round in numbers:

76 – His opening round 76 to move ahead of the division with a five-stroke lead

3 – Ma carded a division-best three birdies in round one

1 – This is Ma’s first IJGT event

Angela Bagabas of San Ramon, Calif., leads the Girls Division. Her round in numbers:

3 – Bagabas’ three birdies came on the par-4 first hole, the par-5 ninth and the par-5 18th

8 – Her eight-hole par-or-better streak came on holes No. 8 through 15

4.5 – Her average on par-5s

74 – Her round one score to carry the lead
