ORLANDO, Fla. – First round play at the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) Bridgestone Golf Tournament of Champions completed in the early afternoon on Saturday May 25. Grand Cypress Golf Club provided the stage with their New Course and East and North Course combo for juniors to show their talents on IJGT’s grandest stage.
Temperatures during play touched into the mid-80s with high humidity. As the day went on, the wind began blowing harder which made playing conditions difficult.
Boys’ Round of the Day
Davis Shore of Knoxville, Tenn., took the lead in the Boys 14 & Under Division with an impressive 3-under-par 69. Shore began his round on the back nine where he played steady, opening with three pars then finally notching a birdie on the par-4 13th. He birdied the 18th hole, his 9th, to shoot an opening nine of 1-under-par 35. Shore came out firing on his second nine, making three birdies of his first five holes. Shore made a bogey on the tough par-3 seventh to shoot a 2-under-par 34.

Girls’ Round of the Day
Isabella DiLisio of Hatfield, Pa., and Moyu Sasaki of Tokyo, Japan, share the Girls Division round of the day with opening round even-par 72s. DiLisio and Sasaki combined to make seven birdies and 22 pars throughout their round. DiLisio played the back nine in a bogey free 1-under-par 35. Sasaki took advantage of the front nine by birdieing three holes.
