Notes from the First Round – Reno Junior at ArrowCreek

 

RENO, Nev. – Located 4,505 feet above sea level, ArrowCreek Country Club provided a scenic setting for the first round of the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) Reno Junior. With many demanding tee shots, the Legend Course, proved very difficult for many of the golfers competing in the Event.

Harrison Holetz

The first round was highlighted by Harrison Holetz of nearby Incline Village, Nev., with his opening round 1-over-par 73. Holetz holds the clubhouse lead going into Sunday and earned the KENTWOOL Socks Lo-Pro Award after his impressive showing on Saturday.

Alice DuanIn the Girls Division, Alice Duan of Reno, Nev., displayed great shots from tee to green on the way to her 5-over-par 77. She has the lead and will look to pick up her first IJGT Title tomorrow at the Legend Course at ArrowCreek Country Club.

Presley MackelburgPlaying in his first ever IJGT tournament, Presley Mackelburg of Reno, Nev., ended atop of the leaderboard in the Boys 14 Under Division after an opening score of 83. He was deadly with his short irons almost holing out on No. 14 from 120 yards.
