Pennsylvania Open at Nemacolin – Round one recap (April 11, 2015)

The IJGT Northeast Tour traveled to Farmington, Pa., to host the Pennsylvania Open at Nemacolin. Below are the round one division leaders’ rounds, in numbers.

Kyle Wensel of Wheeling, WV., leads the Boys 15-19 Division. His round in numbers:

73 – His 3-over round one score to carry the lead

3 – He leads the division by three strokes

2 – His two birdies came on the par-5 11th and par-3 13th holes

4.7 – His average on par-5s

Luke Tercek of Johnstown, Pa., and Jake Calamaro of Newtown Square, Pa., share the lead in the Boys 14 & Under Division. Their rounds in numbers

TERCEK:

1 – His lone birdie came on the par-5 ninth hole

2 – He started the tournament by making par on the first two holes

1 – This is his first IJGT tournament

CALAMARO:

3 – He closed out the front nine by making par on holes No. 7 through 9

8 – He made par eight times during the round

4 – His four-hole par-or-better streak was tied for the division-best

Synclaire Kuhn of McMurray, Pa., leads the Girls Division. Her round in numbers:

85 – Her round one score to lead

5 – She paces the division by five strokes

1 – She birdied the par-3 13th hole

The second round of the Pennsylvania Open at Nemacolin begins tomorrow, April 12, 2015, with tee times beginning at 9 a.m.
