Players to watch at the Philly Challenge at White Manor CC

The IJGT will host the #PhillyChallenge at White Manor Country Club on March 22-23, 2014 in Malvern, Pa. This event will be two days long and golfers will play a total of 36-holes. IJGT Merit Points and National Rankings will go to the top finishers in each division.

White Manor Country Club is a world-class golf course. It is currently the #3 ranked “Modern Design” golf course and #14 overall in Pennsylvania, by Golfweek Magazine. Bobby Weed Design of Pointe Vedra Beach, Fla., redesigned and completely renovated the whole course in 2003. The following year in August 2003, White Manor CC won an award for U.S. Course Renovation of the Year by Golf Inc. Magazine.

In the Boys 15-19 Division, Brendan Bacskai of Berwyn, Pa., will be returning this year to compete for the championship. Bacskai finished tied for fourth last season at White Manor with scores of 77-78–155 and looks to improve his numbers this year. David Ross from Lorton, Va., and Nick Geiman of York, Pa., will also be players to watch. Ross had two top five finishes in the 2012-2013 season while Geiman has two top-five finishes in the current 2013-2014 season.

In the Girls Division,  Isabella DiLisio of Hatfield, Pa., is coming back to defend her title. DiLisio took first place last season at White Manor with a score of 75-78–153 and she will be put to the test again this year at her first IJGT Event of the 2013-2014 season. Brynn Walker of St. Davids, Pa., will also be returning to White Manor. Walker finished in second place at last year’s Event, finishing only two strokes behind DeLisio. Allison Wentworth of Stewartsville, N.J., will be trying for her second first-place finish this season. Wentworth took first at the Upstate Challenge at Locust Hill Country Club. The Girls Division will be an exciting competition between some great skilled junior golfers.

In the Boys 14 & Under, Jon Nolan Perry of Berwyn, Pa., will be a player to watch. He is coming off a first-place finish at the Winter Shootout at TPC Tampa Bay and hopes to continue his momentum.  Another golfer to keep an eye on is Leo Hernandez from Stewartsville, N.J. Hernandez has two top-five finishes this season, most recently taking third place at The Final Challenge at Hershey Links
