Capping off an exciting weekend at the Lowcountry Open at Oldfield Golf Club, we are proud to announce that this week’s Photo of the Week for the Southeast tour goes to Henrique Ferreira of Sao Paulo, Brazil. After garnering a strong following of Likes, Comments, and Shares on our Facebook page, Ferreira has earned the privilege of appearing in this week’s newsletter with this great shot of him teeing off on the second hole at Oldfield during the Aug. 31-Sept. 1 tournament, where he finished in 14th place in just his second IJGT event. Congratulations to Ferreira, and we look forward to seeing him in upcoming events!

Northeast Tour

Boys 15-19 Hershey

The Photo of the Week from the Northeast tour’s Labor Day Classic at Hershey Country Club goes to the Boys’ 15-19 Division winners, Vinay RameshGerry Mackedon, and Gus Minkin (from left to right). This photo proved to be the most popular of the weekend, and with good reason. Mackedon (middle) of Port Jefferson, N.Y., took home the division title, carding a final 143, two shots ahead of second place winners, Ramesh of Newtown, Pa., and Minkin of York, Pa. On a weekend with nearly perfect weather conditions, these boys were able to sink tough putts and overcome nagging hazards. We definitely look forward to seeing them in action again soon!

West Coast Tour

Mikee Ordona - TPC Scottsdale

The West Coast Kickoff at TPC Scottsdale, held on the Stadium and Champions Courses of the famed club, featured some of IJGT’s brightest and most-skilled young golfers. The field of eight players were able to overcome excessive humidity and wind over the Labor Day weekend — particularly Mikee Ordona (pictured above), who had a fabulous tee shot during the second round of the event, making him the winner of our Photo of the Week contest. His second-place finish in the Boys’ 14 & Under division after shooting a final 164 capped off a great opening weekend for our West Coast tour. We are looking forward to seeing Ordona compete again in the coming weeks!
