Over the two days at Parris Island, Parker beat the course and the conditions he was facing. He came in as the clubhouse leader after Round 1, shooting a nice little 4-under-par 68 to lead by two strokes. By the time the final group of boys came in it was all tied up and the entire field came out to watch the three battle it out in extra holes.

In the Girls Division, Fabienne van Kleef (Starnberg, Germany) took home the championship after shooting 73-78-151. In a tight leaderboard situation, Ying-Ting Hsieh took second place shooting a two-day total of 152, followed by Haruka Shintani who shot a two-day total of 153. van Kleef made her first IJGT appearance at Parris Island this weekend, and is one of our younger players, a member of the graduating class of 2020.

This was Fabienne’s first event on the International Junior Golf Tour and she truly shined throughout the event. After she shot a one-over-par score of 73 in Round 1, she came off the course just glowing from having so much fun on the course. In her speech she gave after winning, she thanked not only her coaches and all the usual people winners thank, but also the girls she played with reiterating how much fun she had.
