O’Neill Leads Start to Finish; Wins New Jersey Shootout

New Jersey native claims First-Place at The Ridge at Back Brook

Ringoes, NJ: The International Junior Golf Tour returned to The Ridge at Back Brook for the New Jersey Shootout this past weekend. William O’Neill, the resident of nearby Morristown, NJ, earned 1st with his total finish of 153, 9-over par. The 2018 graduate finished with an opening round of 77, followed by a 76 during his final round to claim victory.

Coming in 2nd place is Matt Karrat of Chatham, NJ. Karrat put together a total score of 157, 13-over par after his rounds of 78 and 79. Finishing in 3rd place is Patrick Laushell of Morrisville, PA who tallied a final score of 158. He opened with an 80 during the first round, followed by a 78 on Sunday afternoon.

For the Girls Division, Marlene Tartaro put together a final round of 78 and surged her way to victory on Sunday. Tartaro, from Warren, NJ, trailed by four strokes off the lead coming into Sunday after an 88 for her opening-round. Her impressive round Sunday gave her a total score of 166. Finishing in 2nd place is Hartley Zook of Flemington, NJ. Zook finished the weekend with scores of 84 and 88, a total of 172.

The IJGT will return to the Northeast on October 28-29, with the playing of the Faldo Series New Jersey Championship at The Architects Golf Club. This will be the final qualifier for the Faldo Series U.S. Grand Final in November.
