The IJGT returned to Hilton Head Island, S.C., on February 28-March 1, 2015, to host the IJGT Junior at Palmetto Dunes. Juniors played through cold, rainy and windy conditions during the two-day, 36-hole event. The field competed for IJGT Merit Points and national rankings while playing the par-70 George Fazio Course. Following the event, the IJGT is pleased to award Player of the Week honors to Middletown, Del., native Matthew Pulgini and Yuki Nakayama of Kawasakishi, Japan.
Pulgini made par on twice as many holes in round two as in round one to knock eight strokes off his round one score. He carded back-to-back birdies on the par-3 hole No. 6 and the par-4 hole No. 7 on his way to a 3-over 73 in round two. His 154 tournament total landed him in a tie for fourth place in his first IJGT event.
Nakayama improved on her round one score of 87 by four strokes to shoot an 83 in round two. Her two birdies came on the par-5 10th hole in round one and the par-4 ninth hole in round two.
Congratulations to both Matthew Pulgini and Yuki Nakayama on their IJGT Player of the Week honors!
