Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the Gold Course’s fourth hole, also known as the “Firestone,” is a 645-yard par-5. The eighth hole, known as the “Yellowstone,” is a long par-4 to a green situated above a canal. The course is known for its tough finish as the final three holes, a par-3 followed by two par-4s, on the back nine are all challenging.

The long and winding par-72 course hosted the 2011 U.S. Open Qualifier and is the home of The Patriot All-America, a 54-hole amateur event. Its five sets of tees range from 5,885 yards to 7,430 yards.

Players to watch in the Boys 15-19 Division include Joey Goryeb of Mendham, N.J., and Drew Karren of Orinda, Calif. Goryeb will be competing in his fourth consecutive IJGT event in Arizona. He tied for 32nd in the 2013 Arizona Open at Wigwam. Karren won the only other IJGT event he’s competed in, the Major Championship at Presidio, in February.

In the Boys 14 & Under Division, keep an eye out for Upland, Calif., native Mikee Ordona. Ordona finished second in the Major Championship at Presidio in February and fourth in the 2013 Arizona Open at Wigwam. This is his fifth season competing on the International Junior Golf Tour.
