International Junior Golf Academy to sponsor IJGA Invitational at Harbour Town

The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) is excited to announce the International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) as the tournament title sponsor for the IJGA Invitational. The IJGA Invitational  will be held at Harbour Town Golf Links on December 12-13, in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

The last of the Fall IJGT Major Championships, the IJGA Invitational, will take place December 12th and 13th at Harbour Town Golf Links located on Hilton Head Island, S.C. The PGA Tour has made Harbour Town a staple of their schedule since 1969, with the RBC Heritage taking place on the course. The par-4, 18th is regularly voted one of America’s top 50 golf holes and the famous candy-cane striped lighthouse has become one of golf’s most iconic images.

The IJGA trains junior golfers for success in tournament golf and beyond. The IJGA is the only academy in the world that combines training, academics, and competition. Through their supportive and competitive environment, students develop the critical qualities of commitment, goal setting and a consistent work ethic to best impact their academics, golf, and future endeavors.

The IJGA offers an array of different programs. Available programs are the full time program, post grad & gap year programs, summer camps, weekend programs, holiday programs, and custom programs. The full time program offers nine months of combined training and schooling for junior golfers ready to reach the next level while the weekend program offers junior golfers two days of individualized instruction, daily meals, and housing. The IJGA has a program that will fit your junior golfer’s needs or will be able to create a custom plan to help them achieve their goals.

Okada’s tee shot featured in the IJGT Photo of the Week – Dec. 18, 2014

The IJGT wrapped up its fall season by hosting the IJGA Invitational at Sea Pines. During the two-day, 36-hole event junior golfers had the opportunity to play both the Ocean Course and Harbour Town Golf Links. Although the mornings started out frosty, both days turned out to be clear and sunny.

A photo of Daiki Okada of Tokyo, Japan, from round one at Harbour Town was selected as this week’s IJGT Photo of the Week. This was Okada’s third consecutive IJGA Invitational; he tied for sixth place in last year’s event. He carded five birdies during this year’s tournament, three of which came on par-5’s.

Congratulations Daiki Okada on being our IJGT Photo of the Week!
