Campbell earns IJGT Player of the Week honors – July 25, 2014

The IJGT continued its Summer Series competition at the Country Club of Hilton Head in Hilton Head, S.C. The two day event took place on July 22-23, 2014. Both days were filled with plenty of sunshine and calm winds giving players an opportunity to post low scores. Even under almost perfect playing conditions, the Country Club of Hilton Head gave players in both divisions a challenge in both rounds of the tournament. The IJGT would like to congratulate Matthew Campbell of Beaufort, S.C., as the recipient of our Player of The Week honors.

Campbell

Playing in his second event with the IJGT and coming off a win at the Sanctuary Shootout in the fall of 2013, Campbell earned another top-three finish with a second place finish in this week’s event. He finished a mere one stroke back from Chris Tanabe of Sewickley, Pa., who won the Boys 14 & Under Division. Campbell’s abundance of birdies in the second round helped him close the distance between him and the leader. His second round score was tied for the best final round in the entire field and was decorated with birdies on No.s 3, 9, 10, 12 and 17.

Congratulations to our Player of The Week, Matthew Campbell on his stellar play in our Summer Series event at the Country Club of Hilton Head and we wish him the best in all of his upcoming competitions!
