IJGT Alumni shine on PGA and LPGA Tour

It was a very strong week for IJGT Alumni on the major professional tours. The PGA Tour stop this week was at Sea Island Resort in Sea Island, Ga., for The RSM Classic. The top ten saw four IJGT Alumni finishers with the highest finishing in second place. Kevin Chappell finished in second place (-16), Jon Curran finished in fourth (-13), Scott Stallings finished T9 (-10), and Jamie Lovemark finished T9 (-10). For Kevin Chappell, this was his fourth event of the season and his first top 10 finish.

The LPGA Tour was in Naples, Fla., this past weekend for The CME Group Championship hosted at the Tiburon Golf Club. IJGT Alumni Sydnee Michaels finished T7 in the event. For Michaels this is her second top 20 finish in as many weeks. This was the final tournament for the LPGA Tour this calendar year. The ladies will return to action in 2016 at the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic.

IJGT Alumni Update – November 4, 2015

IJGT alumni competing in college golf have been finishing their Fall 2015 season strongly. Here are top 10 IJGT alumni finishers from the last week of collegiate competition:

The PGA Tour’s stop this week was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Five IJGT alumni competed in the CIMB Classic held at Kuala Lumpur G&CC (October 29 – November 1). Here is how they finished:

  • Daniel Summerhays – T14
  • Kevin Chappel – T29
  • Zac Blair – T43
  • Jon Curran – T53
  • Matt Every – 72nd

The IJGT ELITE competed in tournaments all over the world last week. The following IJGT ELITE members recorded top-15 finishes on the PGA Tour and Web.com Tour last week.

World Golf Championships Cadillac Championship –Miami, Florida — March 5-8, 2015

Webb Simpson tied for seventh with a 2-under 286. He carded an eagle on the par-5 eighth hole in the first round.

Rickie Fowler tied for 12th with an even-par 288. He recorded a 4-under 68 in round one and carded an eagle on the par-4 11th hole in round three.

Puerto Rico Open — Rio Grande, Puerto Rico — March 5-8, 2015

Jon Curran participated in a five-man playoff for the championship after finishing 72 holes with a 7-under 281. He ended up in a four-way tie for second. Curran shot under par in all four rounds.

Scott Pinckney tied for sixth with a 6-under 282 tournament total. Pinckney also shot under par in all four rounds.

Cartagena de Indias at Karibana Championship — Cartagena, Colombia — March 5-8, 2015

Kevin Tway recorded a 4-under 284 tournament total to tie for fourth. He started the tournament off strong, shooting a 5-under 67 in round one.

Jamie Lovemark tied for 13th with a 1-under 287 tournament total. He shot in the 60s in the first two rounds and was tied for the lead during the second round.

Roberto Diaz tied for 15th with an even-par 288. He carded a 4-under 68 in round two.

The IJGT would also like to wish the best of luck to the 13 IJGT alums competing in the SwingThought Tour’s Cardinal Classic at Diamondhead this week. These players include: Jarrod Barsamian, Sean Bosdosh, Thomas Bradshaw, James Erkenbeck, Shun Yat Hak, Joseph Harrison, CD Hockersmith, Patrick Lundy, Justin Martinson, Andrew Mason, Seth Reeves, Luis Thiele and Cole Willcox.
